Krishnagar Public School, Nadia completes 50 days of Online Classes

Sting Newz Service/Press Release, Nadia: As the entire nation is stranded in the confines of the homes several schools have taken resort to virtual platforms to render academic support to the students. However a school is not merely the place for the academic development of the students, it is also centre for developing co-scholastic activities and a training ground in appreciating culture and heritage.

While several schools are still trying to find a way to start with these important aspects of the school life for the students, Krishnagar Public School, Nadia has found a unique way of bringing a sense of normalcy in the students’ life in this respect even amidst this pandemic lockdown maintaining Co-scholastic classes parallely with academics.

KPS had started with online classes from the 25th of March 2020 and gradually in 4 phases we implemented online classes right from Nursery to Class 12. The school wanted to move beyond to ensure holistic development, and hence they started evening Co-scholastic classes. They also acknowledged the difficulties that our parents were facing. In order to to reach out to the parents, touching their lives as well, helping them to make use of this time in a more fruitful manner by the school introduced Yoga and Spoken English sessions for the parents as well.

On the 15th of May, the school celebrated 50 Days of Online Classes. The students and parents shared their messages for the school and teachers. The students anso shared videos of their dance performance as learnt during the evening classes. The senior students also organised a virtual debate session on this occasion arguing whether the digital classes can replace the real classrooms in the future. The school is continuously trying to promote cultural practices even during the lockdown period by using the virtual platform. They had earlier celebrated International Earth Day by Poster making activity for senior students. They paid their tribute to Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore on the occasion of his 159th birth anniversary by arranging a virtual program released through YouTube. They had also celebrated International Mother’s Day recently on the digital platform.

The school are planning to celebrate upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr virtually to spread the message of communal harmony. They are also gearing up to celebrate Father’s Day in the digital platform as well. They are also planning to organise a Photography Competition for senior students on in the month of June on Camera Day to celebrate the invention of Camera and its significance. The senior students are also planning to organise a Mock Parliament to celebrate the International Day of Parliamentarism.

The school believes in the importance of physical, social, cognitive, creative and emotional skills and how all these different skills compliment and interact with each other to bring about the holistic development of the students. And that is exactly what they are constantly striving to achieve.
