Pradyut Dutta/Samir Rudra, Sting Newz, Nadia: Two persons were killed on spot and one other injured in a road mishap. The incident took place on Krishnagar-Karimpur State Road at Chapra in Nadia on Thursday morning at about 4:30 a.m.
Police said, the deceased were identified as Suban Dhaki (26) and Sabdul Dhaki (23). The injured person was identified as Hadsan Ali Nawda.
Local sources said, after losing control, a Karimpur bound speeding truck entered into food shop after ran over the three persons. At that time, Suban and Sabdul were going to their regular work in cycles. While Hasan Ali was standing before the food shop.
As a result, two were killed on spot and one was seriously injured. The injured person was first rushed to local Chapra Hospital. From there, he was reffered to Shaktinagar District Hospital in Krishnagar, where he was fighting for life.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the driver of the truck may fall asleep. On the other hand, the road turned into a narrow lane due to erecting Kali Puja gate over the road and stone chips are kept for reconstruction it.
Police recovered the two bodies. The bodies are now in local police station. Police seized the killer truck, but the driver fled.
