Sting Newz Service: Krishnagar Public School, a CBSE affiliated senior secondary school in Nadia district of West Bengal recently published the inaugural edition of their quarterly e-magazine. The e-mag named KPStellar was actually “intended to help students, teachers and parents cope with the present pandemic stress that has uprooted the usual lifestyle by giving them a platform to vent out their emotions and express through words and art” according to Principal Dr. Sankar Prasad Dutta.
Dr. Dutta added that the idea behind this initiative came up with the school’s fundamental desire to ensure holistic development and continued effort to ensure healthy emotional spaces for all. One of the most unique features of this school e-magazine apart from being a previously unheard of initiative by a school during the COVID-19 pandemic is it’s involvement of the parents to write and contribute to the content.
The e-magazine came with a special appreciation message from CBSE Regional Officer, Bhubaneswar Mr. T. Mate who described this initiative as “an endeavour to promote creative and critical thinking, develop aesthetic sense and appreciation of rich cultural heritage among the students.” During the current pandemic, when most schools are barely able to function through few virtual classes this is a one-of-a-kind initiative and a rare feat to achieved.
