Sting Newz Web Desk: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday said that the state’s journey over the past fourteen and a half years has been defined by the trust of its people and the government’s commitment to ensuring development reaches “every household, every neighbourhood, every region, and every corner of the state.” She made the remarks while launching Unnayoner Panchali, a narrative document highlighting the state’s progress under the Trinamool Congress government.
Banerjee described Unnayoner Panchali as the collective story of a people who “chose progress over prejudice, humanity over hostility, and unity over divisiveness.” According to her, the document serves as a report card of a development model built on social security, women’s empowerment, economic expansion, and transparent delivery of public services.
She said that the state government has consistently strengthened access to healthcare and education, improved rural livelihoods, and created new opportunities for young people. “Each initiative represents a clear, consistent intent that Bengal’s progress must be broad-based, equitable and sustainable,” Banerjee emphasized.
The Chief Minister also reiterated her criticism of the Central Government, accusing it of withholding Bengal’s dues “out of sheer vindictiveness.” She asserted that despite these financial hurdles, the state has continued to safeguard people’s rights and entitlements. Programmes such as Lakshmir Bhandar, Kanyashree, Swasthya Sathi, Khadyasathi, Krishak Bandhu, Duare Sarkar, Karmashree, and Banglar Bari were highlighted as examples of welfare initiatives that have remained the government’s priority.
