Sting Newz Service: In a major crackdown on illegal drug trafficking, Palashipara Police seized nearly 3 kilograms of suspected heroin—worth approximately ₹3 crores in the illegal market—and arrested one individual during a raid near Kablikhali Bridge in Nadia on Thursday.

Acting on specific intelligence, Sub-Inspector Basudeb Sadhukhan of Palashipara Police Station conducted the raid under the supervision of Inspector-in-Charge Sumit Kumar Ghosh, SDPO Subhatosh Sarkar of Tehatta, and Circle Inspector Md. Mahiul Islam of Nakashipara. The operation was carried out between 11:37 a.m. and 12:42 p.m. and was properly documented through videography.

The arrested individual has been identified as Ashadul Seikh alias Baddin (30 years), son of Abdul Seikh, a resident of Boro Naldaha Uttar Para under Palashipara PS, Nadia. He was caught while waiting near Kablikhali Bridge with a nylon bag that he intended to hand over to another person. Upon searching, the police recovered a transparent plastic packet containing a brown, globule-like substance suspected to be heroin. The packet weighed approximately 2.969 kilograms.

The estimated market value of the seized heroin is around ₹3 crores, making it one of the most significant drug seizures in the region this year.

The accused was arrested at 12:55 p.m. on the same day. A case has been registered against him under Section 21(c) of the NDPS Act (Palashipara PS Case No. 216/2025, dated 09.05.2025).

Police officials have confirmed that further investigation is underway to trace the source and intended recipients of the contraband.
