STING NEWZ/NADIA: Who will be the Trinamool Congress candidate in the Palashipara Assembly constituency of Nadia for the 2026 elections? This question has sparked intense discussion in political circles. After Palashipara’s Trinamool MLA Manik Bhattacharya was jailed in connection with the education scam, questions have arisen over whether the party will grant him a ticket this time. Or is the Trinamool Congress looking for a new face for the constituency? Political observers have already begun searching for answers.
According to political observers, the Trinamool Congress may avoid repeating the mistake of fielding Manik Bhattacharya, who is accused in the education scam. Doing so could hand the opposition an easy weapon during the election campaign.
The key question now is: if Manik Bhattacharya does not get the ticket, who will? A section of political observers believes that the party may nominate someone from outside active politics who has a clean image across the Palashipara Assembly constituency. In this context, the party’s first choice could be noted social worker Anup Ray. By profession, he is a Special Class government contractor and has been working in Odisha for the last 30 years. He is associated with bridge and road construction projects of the Odisha government. He left his B.Sc. studies in the second year and completed a diploma in Civil Engineering from MIT Berhampore. He is fluent in four languages—Hindi, Bengali, Odia, and English.
