STING NEWZ: A serious allegation of misconduct and harassment during the ongoing Higher Secondary Examination 2026 has surfaced, involving examinees from Dharmada Sushilabala Hindu Girls’ High School. The students had been allotted Muragachha High School (H.S. Code-112043) as their examination centre.

In an official complaint addressed to the District Inspector of Schools (D.I), Nadia, the Teacher-in-Charge of Dharmada Sushilabala Hindu Girls’ High School alleged that several invigilators at the examination venue engaged in inappropriate and objectionable behaviour on February 13 and 17, 2026.

According to written statements submitted by the affected students, they were repeatedly disturbed during the examination and subjected to indecent, derogatory, and gender-biased remarks. The complaint further states that the invigilators’ conduct fell far below the professional standards expected of teachers entrusted with examination responsibilities.

The allegations include claims of physical, mental, and emotional harassment. One student was allegedly slapped inside the examination hall, an act described as completely unacceptable and condemnable. Additionally, students alleged that they were asked to remove sweaters and scarves under the pretext of checking, during which male teachers allegedly gazed at them in an improper manner, causing severe discomfort and distress.

Students also reported being subjected to humiliating comments such as questioning what their Head Teacher had taught them and suggesting they should get married and focus on household chores instead of pursuing education. Such remarks, the complaint states, not only insult the dignity of the students but also undermine their academic aspirations and self-respect. Disrespectful comments were allegedly made about their school authorities and even their parents.

As a result of the incident, several students have expressed fear and anxiety about appearing for the remaining examinations. They reportedly feel traumatized and apprehensive that similar behaviour may continue, potentially affecting their performance and future prospects.

The school authorities have urged the District Inspector to initiate an immediate and impartial inquiry into the matter and to take strict action against those responsible. They have also requested necessary measures to ensure a safe, respectful, and unbiased examination environment for the remaining papers.

The written complaints of the affected students have been attached to the official letter for further investigation.

While speaking to STING NEWZ, Chinmay Ghosh, the Head Master of Muragachha High School said, “The allegations have been made because the invigilators prevented the students from cheating during the examination. There is CCTV surveillance inside the examination hall. If the CCTV footage is reviewed, the entire matter will become clear. DI should conduct a proper investigation. I am ready to fully cooperate with the inquiry. However, this appears to be a result of old enmity.”
