
STING NEWZ/NADIA: A new chapter in the field of education was marked at Bahirgachhi village under Nakashipara block of Nadia district with the grand inauguration of the new campus of Susmita Memorial Heritage Academy, an English-medium school. The two-day inaugural programme, held on Friday and Saturday, was celebrated in a festive atmosphere with cultural performances, students’ presentations and the presence of several distinguished guests.
The formal inauguration of the new campus was conducted by Swami Mantrajnanandaji Maharaj of Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission, Belur Math, by cutting the ribbon. The programme also included the hoisting of the National Flag and the institutional flag, lighting of the ceremonial lamp, and paying floral tributes to the portrait of the late Susmita Bhattacharyya.

On Friday, the inaugural ceremony was graced by Justice Arindam Mukherjee of the Calcutta High Court as the chief guest. Several eminent personalities from the Nadia district administration were also present. On Saturday, the event was further dignified by the presence of State Minister Ujjal Biswas, MLA Bimalendu Singh Roy, MLA Kallol Khan, along with many other notable guests.
According to the school authorities, the inauguration of the new campus symbolises a “new beginning.” Founder Secretary Dr Shankhajit Bhattacharyya stated that the modern infrastructure, improved classrooms and student-friendly environment of the new campus will significantly enhance the quality of education offered by the academy. He also informed that there are plans to gradually introduce all streams up to Class XII in the future.
School Principal Salma Khatun said, “We are committed to providing quality education. Our goal is to ensure international-standard education even in a remote rural area.”
