41.65 Kg Ganja Seized in Kaliganj, Two Arrested

STING NEWZ: In a major anti-narcotics operation, police seized 41.65 kilograms of suspected ganja and arrested two persons following a raid conducted on Friday evening under Kaliganj Police Station limits.

According to source information, the raid was led by SRT Evening Officer SI Sadikul Islam along with police force near Fulbaganmore, in front of Abul Kashem’s tyre repairing shop, beside National Highway-12 on the Berhampore-to-Plassey bound flank. During the operation, a brown-coloured TATA 1112 truck bearing registration number WB 51J 5287 was intercepted.

Upon search of the vehicle, police recovered 41.65 kg of grey-coloured leafy substance suspected to be ganja concealed inside the truck. Two occupants of the vehicle were apprehended and later identified as Alimuddin Sk alias Firoj (39) and Mahidul Molla alias Sarikul (28), both residents of Baruipara under Palashipara area.

Police also seized cash amounting to Rs 1,790, three mobile phones, and the TATA 1112 truck used for transporting the contraband. The search, seizure, and arrest were carried out in the presence of senior officers including the Deputy Superintendent of Police (D&T), Krishnagar Police District, the Circle Inspector of Nakashipara, and the Officer-in-Charge of Kaliganj Police Station.
Both accused have been arrested and further investigation is underway to ascertain the source and intended destination of the seized contraband.
