Sting Newz Service: A youth was shot dead by miscreants. The incident took place in Chakundi area of Debogram under Kaliganj police station in Nadia on Friday at about 7:30 p.m.
Police sources said, the deceased was identified as Jalil Shaikh. He was a resident of Doluipur village under Kaliganj police station in Nadia district.
Sources said, Jalil Shaikh was returning home from Debogram Bazar at about 7:30 p.m on Friday, at that time some miscreants shoot him from close range and fled from the spot. Jalil fell on the road with a pool of blood.
Police from ROP Debogram recovered him. Then he was rushed to nearest Debogram Hospital, from there he was referred to Shaktinagar District Hospital in Krishnagar, where he was declared brought dead.
After that, relatives of the deceased blocked NH-34 at Debogram in demand of the arrest of the culprits.
It was reported that Jalil Shaikh was a former Anchal President of TMC Youth wings at Rajarampur Ghoraikshetra GP. He left TMC in last panchayat election and joined CPI(M). After election, he again joined TMC.
